Ohio State vs Minnesota

Ohio State vs Minnesota: As usual, we at Scarlet And Game will make our predictions for this week’s Ohio State football game as the Buckeyes host the Golden Gophers.

Ohio State vs Minnesota Live

Last week the Ohio State football team struggled for three quarters but pulled away late to defeat the Indiana Hoosiers 49-26. I struggled from the second quarter on because I realized my chance of winning the weekly prediction was out the window.

The winner was my nemesis Thomas Scurlock who predicted a 25 point Buckeye victory. Tom, Blake and I are now tied with two wins apiece on the season. Come on Shayne, time to pick your game up buddy.

Here are our Scarlet And Game predictions for Ohio State vs. Minnesota. As much as it bothers me, since Tom won last week he has the honor of going first.

Tom:The last time P.J. Fleck brought a team into the Horseshoe he gave the Buckeyes all they could handle.  I don’t think it will be a similar experience this time.

Minnesota started the season 3-0 but has dropped two-straight and neither game was close. In the games against Maryland and Iowa, the Golden Gophers allowed 90 points and 852 yards, and turned the ball over seven times.

Fleck is starting a true freshman at quarterback.  Zack Annexstad started the season well, but as the competition improved his numbers are starting to reflect what you would expect from a freshman.

He’s sharing the backfield with fellow freshman Bryce Williams who is starting because the team lost senior Rodney Smith to a season ending injury in week two.

Annexstad does have a good receiver in junior Tyler Johnson.  He has 402 yards and six touchdowns on the year.

I don’t expect the defense to have too much trouble slowing down their offense.

Ryan Day will have his pick of the playbook.  The Terps burned Minnesota on the ground and the Hawkeyes torched them through the air.

Dwayne Haskins will play well again, but I expect to see more of J.K Dobbins and Mike Weber.  I think both will reach 100 yards.

Fleck is a fiery young coach who will have his team motivated.  The Gophers are just too inexperienced to make this a close game. Buckeyes 52-13
